"Sport Fishing Tourism–ABBAS" is a project co-funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD)and the Autonomous Region of Sardinia. Through the creation of an international network for sport fishing, the project aims to enhance inland areas by promoting a sustainable tourism model open to global markets.
“ABBAS” falls under the Rural Development Plan (RDP) 2007/2013, Axis IV- Leader (Approach)-Measure 421, inter-territorial and transnational cooperation.
Measure 421, through specific actions encourages cooperation activities between Local action groups (LAGs) from same members States (inter-territorial cooperation) or among LAGs from different members States (transnational cooperation).
With the EAFRD fund, the EU supports rural development by improving the competitiveness of agriculture and forestry, the management of its natural resources, as well as the quality of life and the diversification of activities in rural areas.
